Borders are opening slowly......

With the coronavirus coming under control here in Australia, borders are slowly opening to us Sydneysiders. But for some politicians namely state and federal LNP parties it is not quick enough. I'm backing the premiers of each state to open only when you feel comfortable to do so.

Here in greater Sydney we have single digit cases per day, with contract tracing and self isolation keeping them under control. Today was a zero case day.

Greater Melbourne has been under total lockdown for a few months when their cases increased over 700 per day and numerous deaths mostly in aged care centres. They're Premier  Dan Andrews and the people of Melbourne have done a great job in getting these cases down to double donut days (0 cases and 0 deaths) for the past six days running. I think lives are more important than the economy - because without a healthy population you won't have an economy.

So with the borders opening the husband and I have taken a road trip to Canberra (our national capital) and flew to Uluru to finally get to see a big rock up close.

Blue Poles - Gough Whitlam former Labor Prime Minister bought this painting for $1mil in his day. I dare say it is worth lot more now.

Canberra is a city designed by Burley Griffin, I find it pleasant enough to visit but can see why our politicians only fly in and out on sitting days of parliament. Not a city I would like to live in.

Trip to Uluru was very nice indeed. Got to Segway around the big rock in early morning and lucky enough it had rained the night before and so we got to see the waterfalls streaming down the rock face. Hired a car to see the rock at sunset  and visit the Light Fields installation at night. Next day was a trip to the Olgas another rock out crop. All have significance to our indigenous peoples and you can see why when you visit. You can no longer climb the rock which I'm glad as it is very steep.
